Mr. Michael J. Hogue, 73, died Saturday, June 9th, at his residence, under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 16th, starting at 3pm, at the Knights of Columbus in Clayton. The Clayton American Legion Post 821 Color-guard will do Military Honors at 4pm outside the Knights of Columbus.
Mike was born November 8th, 1944, in Dorking England, the son of Joseph and Peggy Farley Hogue. He graduated from General Brown High School.
He entered the United States Navy on March 14th, 1962, and was honorably discharged on January 21st, 1966. He was last assigned to the USNC Rosevelt RDS, in Puerto Rico.
Mike went to work for Niagara Mohawk, now National Grid, in 1979 and retired from there in 2006. While working for Niagara Mohawk, he worked for various departments. He was in the Service Department when he retired.
He was a member of the Colon Couch Post 821 American Legion, where he was Past Commander. He also was owner and operator of a DJ Service called Memory Lane.
Mike enjoyed collecting antiques, metal detecting, doing construction projects, and having a few Cuba Libres.
Surviving are two daughters, Charlotte (Matthew) Geisler of Lousiana, Pia (Ryan) Miller of Rhode Island; one son Mark (Melissa) DeRemer of Illinois; three grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; nieces and nephews.
Donations can be made in his name to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, N.Y. 13601.
