Clayton;
Mrs. Jean M. Gushlaw, 87, passed away December 2, at her residence, where she was under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County and surrounded by her family.
Per Jean’s wishes there will be a public Graveside Committal Service on Saturday, December 14, at 1pm, at St. Lawrence Union Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.
Jean was born July 6, 1937, in Clayton, the daughter of Clifford and Helen McConnell Timmerman. She attended Clayton schools.
On October 2, 1954, Jean married Athol (STUB) Gushlaw, in Clayton, with Reverend Wright officiating. Stub died October 13, 2013, at age 77.
Jean was a homemaker all her life, taking care of her family. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and loved going to craft shows.
Surviving are two sons, Michael and his fiancé Jennifer Bailey, and Clifford (Shauna), all, of Clayton; two daughters, Cynthia (Chuck) Youngs, and Julie Hyde, all of Clayton; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Walter (Maria) Timmerman of Clayton; nieces and nephews.
One grandson, and one daughter in law predeceased her.
