Mr. William (Bill) Shultz, age 66, of Clayton, died Tuesday, July 28, at the Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown. A Celebration of Life for Bill will be Friday, July 31, starting at 3pm at the Depauville Fire Hall as per his wishes.
Donations can be made in his name to the Walker Cancer Treatment Center in Watertown.
Bill was born January 18, 1949, in Watertown, the son of Harold and Margaret LeClair Shultz. He graduated from LaFargeville High School.
On January 8, 1972, he married the former Cheryl Davis in LaFargeville.
Bill served in the United States Navy overseas from 1969-1973, when he was honorably discharged.
He worked as a mechanic for various places, including the New York Air Brake for over 15 years. He also worked for Wayne Garage Doors, Gilco, and Phinney’s Automotive.
Bill enjoyed woodworking, deer hunting, fishing, and most importantly he loved volunteering at the Can-Am Speedway in LaFargeville.
Surviving besides his wife Cheryl is a son Carey (Kristen) of Oneonta; two daughters, Missy and her companion Jamie Jeffers of Clayton, and Trisha (James) Matthews of Syracuse; one brother, Robert (Jill) of LaFargeville; three sisters, Cheryl Karpel of Clayton, Sandra (Richard) Robinson of Great Bend, and Carolyn (Francis) Bazinet of Grindstone Island; one brother in law, Floyd Hall of LaFargeville; nieces and nephews.
One sister Suzanne Hall, and one brother in law, George Karpel, died before him.
