Mrs. Barbara A. Baltz, age 67, died Friday at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, after a short illness.
The funeral will be 11am on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the Omar Methodist Church. A burial will follow in Omar Cemetery.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton.
Barbara was born, November 30, 1947, in Gouverneur, the daughter of Robert and Ruth Fleming George. She graduated from Gouverneur Schools.
She was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in the early 1970’s.
Barbara married David Baltz on September 22, 2001.
She worked for a number of years at Northland in Watertown, she also worked for JRC as a home helper, and as a homecare helper.
Barbara was an avid reader, enjoyed doing 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles, enjoyed going to church, and watching television, where two of her favorite shows were Jag and Walker Texas Ranger.
Surviving besides her husband David is a son Donald George of Omar; three brothers, Richard of Richville, Paul of Theresa, and Robert (Leddy) of Florida; three sisters, Jeanette Mashaw of Antwerp, Concetta George of Maryland, and Ann Devine of Alexandria Bay; two sons, Michael (Valery) Baltz and their three children Rebecca, Jonathan, and Benjamin, and Andrew (Stacy) Baltz and their child Tylea, all of Omar; nieces and nephews.
One sister Darlene Grubb, died in 2005.
Donations can be made in her name to the Omar Methodist Church, NYS Rt. 180, Clayton, N.Y. 13624.
