David J. (Beaver) Jones, age 56, of Theresa, died Sunday, Feb. 7th, at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Dave was born, Aug 25th, 1959, in Alexandria Bay, the son of Gerald and Mary Roberts Jones Sr. He attended Indian River schools.
He was employed by the New York Air Brake Foundry Division and later was employed by the Village of Theresa as Superintendent.
Dave enjoyed watching the NY Yankees, fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
On July 28th, 2013, he married the former Terri Hotis (Switzer) in Theresa. A prior marriage to Lorne Simpson ended in divorce.
Surviving besides his wife Terri, is his mother Mary Jones of Theresa; two sons, David (Angela) and Ezrail (Bethany), both of Theresa; four sisters, Pamela (Victor) Delles of Philadelphia, NY, Maryann (Ned) Barnes of West Monroe; Judy (Chris) Brass of Watertown, and Ruth Jones and her companion Perry Durgan of Theresa; four brothers, Arnold (Melody) of Philadelphia, Darcy and his companion Deb Nevilles of Gouverneur, Frank Jones of LaFargeville, and Paul (Kelly) Cole of Redwood; eight grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
His father, Gerald Sr., and brothers Gerald Jr. And Donald Jones, died before him.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday evening, starting at 6pm, at the Theresa Fire Hall, with a short service that evening.
Donations can be made in his name to the Hospice of Jefferson County, or the Theresa Volunteer Fire Department.
