Mrs. Fodora E. Hotis, age 85, died Tuesday at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. There will be a Celebration of Life from 5-8pm, Friday, March 25, at the LaFargeville American Legion.
Fodora was March 24, 1930, in Three Mile Bay, the daughter of Ford and Phoebe Daughen Dodge.
On November 11, 1948, she married Robert Hotis at the LaFargeville Methodist Church Parsonage. Bob died, November 9, 2011 at age 81.
Fodora farmed with her husband for many years, she also ran the Green Thumb Senior Citizens Lunch Program in LaFargeville.
She was a member of the Omar Methodist Church, the Rebecca Lodge, Eastern Star, Eastern Milk Producers, and was formerly Secretary of the Omar Cemetery Associations.
Fodora enjoyed cooking and baking, fishing, playing cards, bingo, and especially her family. She was a New York Yankees fan.
Surviving is one son, Danny (Lena) of Pierrepont Manor; four daughters, Donna (Thomas) Taylor of North Carolina, Jacki (Bruce) Sanford of Clayton, Susan (Michael) Derouin of Stone Mills, and Terri Jones of Theresa; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Ross Wells Jr. of Clayton; three sisters, Janet VanTassel of Nebraska, Caroline Wells of Clayton, and Anna VanTassel of Central Square; nieces and nephews.
One daughter Darlene Young, died in 2006, one grand daughter Shelly, died in 2014, and one great granddaughter, McKenna Taylor died in infancy. One brother, Louis Wells, and two sisters, June Donaghy and Lana Petrie, also died before her.
Donations can be made in her name to T.I.E.R.S. or the Fishers Landing Fire Department.
