Mrs. Irma H. Gifford, 92, of Eastline Rd., died Friday June 2nd, at the Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown where she resided since October of 2016.
As per her wishes, there will be no services. A burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
Irma was born March 22nd, 1925, in Clayton, the daughter of Ivan and Harriet Richter Couch. She graduated from Clayton High School.
On March 3rd, 1951, she married Laurence Gifford at the Church of the Redeemer in Watertown with Reverend Curtis Denny officiating. Laurence, a retired Frink employee, died March 21st, 2006 at age 83.
Irma worked for a time at Graphic Controls in Clayton.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Raymond “Skip” (Shirley) Couch of Clayton, and William (Jeanette) Couch of Alabama; a sister in law, Mary Jane Couch of Florida; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces.
Five siblings, William of Clayton; Ivan of Daytona Beach; Raymond of Clayton; Mildred Eiben of Maryland; and Erna Couch, in infancy, all predeceased her.
