Mr. Raymond F. Drake, 76, died Thursday, Feb. 15th, at his winter residence in North Myrtle Beach. There will be no calling hours or funeral. There will be a Springside Committal Service in Grove Cemetery at a time to be announced.
Ray was born October 14th, 1941, in North Hudson, N.Y., the son of Charles and Florence McConnelly Drake. He graduated Mineville High School.
He served in the United States Army from 1960 until being honorably discharged in 1962.
On November 24th, 1962, he married the former Sandra Laslow at the Moriah Methodist Church.
He worked as a Mine and Safety Inspector for a number of years at the Fort Drum Office.
Ray was a life member of the LaFargeville American Legion.
Surviving besides his wife Sandra, are four children, Raymond (Patricia) of LaFargeville and Florida, Randy (Wendy) of LaFargeville and South Carolina, Timothy (Lori) of Alexandria Bay, and Jennifer (Eric) Parenti of Oxford, New Hampshire; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Charles (Rita) of Ticonderoga, and James (Claudette) of Fort Henry; nieces and nephews.
One sister, Marion Drake, predeceased him.
Donations can be made in his name to the Disabled American Veterans, 216 Haley Street, Watertown, N.Y. 13601.
