Mrs. Patricia A. Link, 87, of Omar, died Sunday morning, August 1st, at her residence, where she was under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Calling hours will be held 4-7pm, August 5th, at the T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton. A Funeral Mass will be Friday, August 6th, at 11am, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clayton, with Father Arthur LaBaff officiating. A reception will follow at the church parish center. A private burial with full Military Honors will be at the family’s convenience.
Pat was born January 19th, 1934, in Clayton, the daughter of F. Roland and N. Francis McConnell Garnsey. She attended St. Mary’s School, Clayton Central School, and graduated from Pompano Beach High School in Florida.
She enlisted in the United States Air Force in Syracuse, New York, and was honorably discharged in 1955.
On August 22nd, 1955, she married Paul Link, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clayton, with Father George Racette officiating. Paul passed July 28th, 2014, at age 80.
Before moving to Clayton, Paul worked for the U.S. Postal Services in Florida. After moving to Clayton, Pat was mainly a housewife, and assisted her husband in his upholstery business, where he reupholstered boat seats for H. Chalk and Sons. And for many other people.
Pat was a member of the Clayton Colon Couch Post 821 American Legion, and also a former member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are her children, Jane Link and her wife Kathy Kraski of Colorado, Paul Jr. of Omar, Valarie (Brandon) LaClair of Stone Mills, Stephen (Diana) of LaFargeville, and Scott of Omar; four grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Her siblings, Gerald Roland Jr., James, Joe, Elizabeth Davis, Marion (who died in infancy), and Dotti Garnsey all predeceased her.
