Mr. Michael D. Wormuth, 73, formerly of Clayton, died Sunday, February 4th, at his residence.
Calling hours will be 4-7pm Friday, February 9th, at the T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton, followed by a Funeral Service at 7pm with Deacon Neil Fuller of St. Mary’s Church officiating. A Spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery with Military Honors.
Mike was born, March 31st, 1950, in Binghamton, the son of Oscar and Evelyn Boni Wormuth. He graduated from Chenango Forks High School and served in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne Division, being honorably discharged.
On May 21st, 1971, he married the former Sharon Bliss. Sharon passed away on February 18th of 2021.
Mike was owner/operator of Wormuth Concrete in Binghamton until 1986 when he and his wife moved to Clayton. While in Clayton, Mike and Sharon operated a trophy shop out of their home and Mike worked at various concrete companies in the area. He also worked for both FX Caprara’s and Fuccillo’s in sales for a time.
He was a past member of Colon-Couch Post 821 and was a current member of the Alexandria Bay Legion Post 904.
Mike was an avid golfer and had a huge love of the river.
Surviving are two daughters, Kristina (Steve) Dorr of Clayton and Desirea (Michael) Russell of South Dakota; a son, Scott and his wife Erin; and nine grandchildren.
One son, Brian, died in infancy.
