Wayne Alan Aldrich Sr., 54, of Clayton/Dekalb, Texas, sadly passed away February 6th after being diagnosed with cancer.
He was born on January 14th, 1970, to Carl and Joyce Aldrich. He attended Thousand Islands Central School, graduating in 1988, playing hockey, baseball and football throughout high school. After graduating, he worked at Chris’s gas station, then went to work construction for David Ivey Sr., along with a few other jobs before driving truck for Bach & Co. until he moved to Dekalb, Texas, in 2013. He then worked driving log truck for Timberline for years up until he was diagnosed.
Wayne had so many friends and family, and was so loved and respected by everyone he met. He was the kindest and hardest working man with the biggest heart. He was a walking textbook who knew so much and was always there to lend a hand. He loved being outside doing just about anything and everything, but he loved spending time with his family the most.
Throughout the years of his children growing up, he coached his son’s baseball teams and taught many of the kids from LaFargeville, and he always treated them as his own, carting them to games, hosting sleepovers. He was always a hands-on Dad who loved his children very much.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Christina Buxton, of Dekalb, Texas; his children, son, Wayne Aldrich Jr., and daughter, Tiffany Aldrich and son-in-law, Ethan Phelps; grandson, Gage Phelps; his children’s mother, Tammy Aldrich; and mother-in- law, April Robinson, all of Clayton. His mother, Joyce, of Clayton; his sisters, Kelly (Paul) Cole and family of Redwood and Kathy (James) Aitcheson and family of Clayton; his brother, Dan (Amy) Aldrich and family of LaFargeville; stepdaughters, Morgan and family of Watertown, and Jamie and family (Montana); his nephew John Cole was also his godson, who he was always close to, along with his other nephew, Andrew Cole; Christina’s mother, Bonnie (Missouri); Christina’s brother, Teddy (Missouri); along with many other family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Carl Aldrich, and grandsons Waylon and Benjamin Phelps.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Worked with Wayne for years. He was a very good person and family man. His wealth of knowledge was surpassed by his humbleness. So sorry for your loss.
