Mr. Evan P. Bauer, 76, died Wednesday, April 17th, in Tampa, Florida, where he was a longtime resident.
Evan was born February 24th, 1943, in Western N.Y. the son of Richard and Hilda McEwen Bauer.
On March 13th, 1987, he married the former Elizabeth (Liz) Rondeau in Lake Placid.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator, working for various companies across New York state. A few were, Gouverneur Iron Works, Gary Carlisle, Green Island Construction, and Congel & Palenscar Construction.
Being a heavy equipment operator for over 50 years, Evan was self-employed for a time, once being a co-owner of Bauer & Winn in Clayton, with his partner Bob Winn.
Evan was also a New York State certified welder.
He loved operating “CAT” Heavy Equipment, watching the Tampa Bay Rays baseball games, and spending time with his grandchildren. Evan was known wherever he went for his sense of humor.
Surviving besides his wife Liz, are five children, Kenneth (Diane) Reid, Buck Reid, both of Tampa, Fl., Brian (Courtney) Bauer of Redfield, N.Y., Rhonda (Bill) Campbell of Clayton and Florida, and Amy (Rob) Farmer of Clayton; five grandchildren, Wyatt and Molly Reid, Tyler and Kristin Farmer, and Amanda Fisher; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Myrle (Beth) Bauer of Clayton, and Owen (Naomi) Bauer of Missouri; nieces and nephews.
The service will be private and at the convenience of the family.
