Mrs. Beverly Jane Runyan Cole died at home in Clayton, NY on August 10th, 2023 after a brief illness.
Beverly was born May 19th, 1929 in Montclair, NJ. She was the daughter of William John Runyan, M.D. and Florence Crosby Runyan. She graduated from Glen Ridge High, St. Lawrence University and earned a Master Degree from SUNY-Fredonia.
Beverly married Marine Lt. Frank H. Cole in 1953. She was widowed in 2005. She was pre-deceased by her only sister, Elizabeth Haskins and a son, Jeffrey L. Cole.
She is survived by two of their three children, Rachel E. Cole of Clayton and William J. R. Cole of Barrington, NH along with nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Beverly taught in the Mayville, NY School system and had started her 95th season on Murray Isle in the 1000 Islands. Beverly was an avid reader, enjoyed her family and community. She studied stock, the Bible and was an expert knitter. While living in Bemus Point, NY she was a devoted member of the Bemus Point United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are with the T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton. No services are planned at this time.
