
Karen Beatrice Wilson Hyde of 37471 New York State Route 12 Clayton, 74, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Samaritan Medical Center. Private Graveside Service and internment will be held for family and friends in the Spring at St. Lawrence Union Cemetery officiated by Rev. Thomas Wilson.
Karen was born on October 30, 1950, to William and Frances (Cross) Wilson in Alexandria Bay, NY. Karen was united in marriage to John N. Hyde on November 7, 1969, at LaFargeville Methodist Church. They lived the majority of their married life in the Clayton area, where they raised four children. Karen was a member of the local Rebekah Lodge and Aldrich Fish and Game Club. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, being a sports mom, dancing with her husband, NASCAR, and all things family. She thrived being the matriarch of her family, often times putting those she loved ahead of herself. She exemplified strength and was a fierce protector when she felt she needed to be.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Renee Timmins and husband Ron (Laquey MO); son, John N. Hyde II and companion, Lindsey Garnsey (LaFargeville NY); son, Wesley Hyde and companion, Emily Sullivan (Clayton NY); son Marcus Hyde and companion, Charlene Chandler (LaFargeville NY/ Gananoque Ontario); grandsons, Christopher Hyde, Rhyder Timmins, Hunter Schafer, Lian Hyde; granddaughters, Rhiannon Gibbs, Jami Schafer, Alexandria Timmins, Alicen Bauer, Jillian Schafer, Emma Hyde; several great grandchildren; sister, Sandra Hyde and husband James (LaFargeville NY), brother Thomas Wilson and wife Kristine (Watertown, NY); many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John N Hyde; parents, William and Frances Wilson; brother, David Wilson; sister, Bonnie Garnsey, and daughter in law, Amy Hyde.
Karen will be missed by her family and friends. We hope that you carry a story of Karen in your heart that brings you joy.

The news of Karen passing is very sad. I have many great memories of the Waterson, Orvis and Hyde families ice fishing together on Carrier Bay for fishing derbies. Memories of countless hours bullhead fishing are also dear to me.
