Mrs. Sharon M. Carlisle, 82, formerly of Omar, and most recently of Clayton, passed away on Friday, October 3rd, where she was under the care of her family at the Hospice of Jefferson County.
There will be a public graveside service on Friday, October 10th, at 11:00am, with Reverend Chuck Constantino officiating at Omar Cemetery.
Sharon was born on May 1st, 1943, in Watertown, the daughter of Alfred and Helen Patterson Jacox. She graduated from LaFargeville High School and went to Nursing Schools in Syracuse.
A marriage to Ken Doney ended in divorce.
On January 21st, 1977, she married Gary Carlisle in Virginia. Gary passed away on April 17th, 2010, at age 67.
Sharon worked as a RN at Samaritan Hospital, Mercy Hospital, and Gutherie Ambulatory Medical Center on Fort Drum.
She enjoyed playing the guitar, clogging, sewing, knitting, and especially enjoyed reading.
Surviving are four children, Tim (Karen) Doney of Clayton, James (Karyn) Doney of California, Leslie (Steve) Denner of LaFargeville, and Kimberly Barron of California; six grandchildren, Erin (Pat) McCarron, Ian (Jake), Emma, Grace, Jack, and Morgan; two great grandchildren, Brendan, and Aiden; one brother, David (Patricia) Jacox of Rochester; one sister, Kathleen Brethen of Clayton; nieces and nephews.
One brother, Alfred Jacox, predeceased her.
Donations can be made in her name to the SPCA of Watertown, 25056 Water Street, Watertown, N.Y., 13601.
