
Ellen M. Cooper passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026 at Samaritan Keep Home, where she had resided for the past 13 months.
She is survived by her children: Gregory D. Singer & wife Jackie, Mooresville, North Carolina; Stefanie E. Singer, Alexandria Bay, NY; Darin F. Singer, Philadelphia, NY. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Ainlsey Singer, Alexandria Bay; Jenna Singer, Mooresville, North Carolina; Taylor & Grant Kraft, Troutman, North Carolina. She also has 2 great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her three sisters; Patricia M. Chalk, Virginia Simpson, Alice Millett; and her parents Sarah Lee Moore and Leonard Moore.
She was married for 30 years to Charles F. Singer, Jr., which ended in divorce; and remarried to Leonard W. Cooper, whom is deceased.
She was a graduate of Alexandria Central School; worked at the T.I. Printing Office for a short period of time; and later worked as an Accounts Receivable Clerk at Chalks Marina, Fishers Landing for 18 years.
She loved being with and doing activities with her family and friends. She was very active and enjoyed outdoor sports activities throughout her life.
She enjoyed homemaking, reading, gardening, puzzles, card games, and playing scrabble.
A memorial service will be held at the Omar Church, Omar on Saturday June 6, 2026 from 1 to 4 P.M. A private burial service will be held Sunday June 7, 2026 at the Omar Cemetery, Omar.
Memorial donations can be made to the Omar Church, Omar or the Alexandria Bay Fire Department.
A very special thank you to all the staff at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown, and Optum Staff for providing outstanding compassionate care and support throughout her stay and especially in her final days.

I am sorry to read about Ellen. I am one of the CNA’s who took care of her before being on medical leave. One good memory I have of her is that she loved wearing this bright pink top with a colorful vest and her blue’scrub’ Pants. May she rest in peace.
